Jellyfin
Your own streaming service for the media you already have.
For iPhone · Coming soon to the App Store
ServerMage installs self-hosted apps on your own Linux server and keeps them running: updates, backups and health checks, all from your iPhone.
Ubuntu 22.04 & 24.04 · Debian 12 & 13 · Rocky Linux 9 & 10 · AlmaLinux 9
Intel/AMD and ARM64 · Docker installed for youHow it works
Enter its address and sign in once over SSH, with a password or a key. ServerMage checks the server, installs Docker if it needs to, and sets up a small Agent. Then it forgets the sign-in.
Choose from a catalog of tested apps. Before anything is installed, ServerMage checks memory, disk space, ports and folders, and tells you plainly what to fix.
Each app gets a simple address, like http://server/jellyfin, plus health checks, updates, backups and alerts from then on. Open ServerMage when you want to; it tells you when something needs you.
The catalog
Every app in the catalog is set up for you, signed, and certified on every system listed above before it's offered. The catalog grows on its own schedule, without waiting for an app update.
Your own streaming service for the media you already have.
Phone photo backup and a private photo library.
Your own cloud for files, calendars and contacts, ready to sign in.
Blocks ads and trackers for every device at home, and gives your apps easy names like jellyfin.myserver.home.
Watches your sites and devices and tells you when one goes down.
On the way to the catalog
App names are trademarks of their owners. ServerMage isn't affiliated with these projects; each installed app links to its official documentation.
The upkeep, handled
Before an update, ServerMage backs the app up and steps through major versions one at a time. If the new version doesn't come up healthy, it rolls back on its own, database included.
Daily or weekly backups of each app's settings and database, kept on your server. Restore in a tap.
"Jellyfin isn't healthy." "Backups are behind." "The disk is nearly full." Even "your server's address could change." Each alert opens the screen that fixes it.
ServerMage's own Agent, and the web router that gives your apps their addresses, update overnight and put themselves back if anything goes wrong.
Removing an app keeps its data unless you say otherwise, and a reinstall can pick it back up. Your own folders are never deleted.
If the app can't reach your server, it explains why and can fix common problems for you, like Docker that won't start.
Pro · Reach from anywhere
Bring a domain with its DNS on Cloudflare. ServerMage connects it to your server with a Cloudflare Tunnel, so the apps you pick get trusted HTTPS addresses that work anywhere.
The tunnel only connects outward. Nothing changes on your router or firewall, and there's no dynamic DNS to babysit.
Each app has its own switch. ServerMage won't open an app until its own sign-in is set up, so no stranger can claim it first.
Only the apps you choose go out. The controls for your server are never reachable from the internet, and turning remote access off cleans up after itself.
Remote access uses Cloudflare's free plan and your own domain (about $10–15 a year from a registrar). Cloudflare's limits apply, such as 100 MB per upload; ServerMage tells you about them before you turn an app on.
Your server stays yours
There's no web admin page to attack, no cloud account between you and your server, and no shell access through the app. ServerMage does a short list of things, carefully.
Questions
You need a Linux server and a sign-in for it. ServerMage is certified on the systems listed at the top of this page, and setup checks your server first and tells you plainly if it can't be used. ServerMage does the rest: it installs Docker if needed, sets up its Agent, and handles each app's setup.
Yes, with Pro and your own domain on Cloudflare. ServerMage sets up a Cloudflare Tunnel, and each app you choose gets a trusted HTTPS address like https://photos.yourdomain.com. Nothing is opened on your router, and ServerMage itself stays at home. Without it, your apps work on your home network.
They keep running exactly as they are. ServerMage shows them so you have the full picture, but it only ever changes apps it installed itself.
Removing an app keeps its data by default, so you can reinstall later and carry on. You can also remove ServerMage from a server entirely, with or without its apps; Docker and your own folders are left alone.
Each app has a simple address on your server, like http://myserver/jellyfin, and ServerMage shows it with a button to open it. With Pi-hole installed, apps also get names like http://jellyfin.myserver.home on devices that use it.
ServerMage is made for iPhone. There's no web version by design: it keeps your server off the browser and out of reach.
The plan is to start free, with up to two apps. Pro removes the limit and adds remote access and Pi-hole. Pricing will be announced at launch.
ServerMage is in final testing on real home servers. Check back here for the launch.
